Suzy Says She Cried When She Read Scenario for ′Dorihwaga′
Suzy revealed why chose to make her big screen comeback with Dorihwaga.
A production briefing for Dorihwaga was held at the Apgujeong CGV in Seoul on October 29, where Suzy said, "I worried a lot about my next project after Architecture 101."
She continued, "I wanted to do it as soon as I saw the scenario. I don′t know why, but I cried when I saw it. I thought, ′I really want to do this.′ I was worried because I had to do pansori, but I wanted to challenge myself, and that′s why I decided to do it."
Dorihwaga is set in 1867, when women weren′t allowed to perform pansori, and centered on Jin Chae Sun (Suzy), who dreams of becoming a pansori singer during the Joseon era, and her mentor Shin Jae Hyo (Ryu Seung Ryong). The film hits theaters on November 15.
